Carl lived his entire life in the Bushong/Chalk area and farmed most of that time. He was a member of the Emmanuel Church. He was proud to serve the Lord by taking care of the church building. Many improvements to the Church were done by his willing hands. He was a loving father, who felt actions spoke louder than words, and showed his love for us over and over. He loved to garden, and share the fruits of his labor with family and friends. He loved to watch KU play basketball and the Royals play baseball. He loved to play cards and talk to anyone about farm crops, cattle, or anything related to farming.
His marriage to Barbara Ann Ferris was at Winchester, KS at the home of her parents on June 19, 1955.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Barbara, on December 2, 2013; 4 sisters, Mary Sloan, Flossie Tucker, Dorothy Snodgrass and Marjorie Hobbs; and 3 brothers, Raymond, Harold and John Rowley.
